Ridgeline

Iconic in nature, Ridgeline sits in a matched position to its name – atop a generous site, perfectly positioned to optimise on the surrounding expansive views.

Inspired by the Modernist masters, the mainly concrete and glass home features large spans of concrete and steel and remains contained to the one level. The additional floor plane above remains hidden mostly from view yet becomes a private primary bedroom retreat for the owners, further elevated with accompanying views.

While the home occupies only a small portion of a large allotment, the winding driveway adds to a sense of anticipation and surprise as the home slowly reveals itself on approach. A similar sense of journey is imbedded throughout the interior with views revealing themselves in differing directions, with open outdoor areas offering a moment of reprieve from the elements. With façade elements that can be pulled back away from view, the minimal home founded on restraint feels connected well beyond its own bounding walls, and through its muted tonality, is intended to remain relevant for years to come.
