Sink Into A 3D-Printed Noodle Nest By Studio Yellowdot

Published on

Spaghetti is best served al dente—and so, we’d argue, is furniture. Hong Kong– and Istanbul-based Studio Yellowdot reimagined Italy’s most beloved food for “Edible Reveries,” a multi-sensory installation during Milan Design Week for Artisia, an experimental brand by pasta manufacturer Barilla. Chefs served up 3D-printed noodle nests, which visitors enjoyed while perusing seating that resembled oversized tubular pasta shapes. The ribbed daybed, rocking chair, and chaise longue of Tattile (tactile in Italian) were 3D-printed of wood-composite filament by Barcelona additive manufacturer LaMáquina, each piece gently structured with just the right al dente give to cradle the body in repose post-meal. studioyellowdot.com
