Weimar Group: The story of Qinglan Pavilion begins with a “modern illusion.”Restrained stone, refined metal, tranquil water surfaces, lighting, and gardens intertwine to embody the modern spirit of contemporary Hangzhou—honoring the city’s elegance while preserving the subtle serenity and ease unique to Jiangnan.
As the landscape extends from the showcase area into the broader community, the design narrative quietly shifts: from “a first impression that captivates,” to “a daily life worth savoring with every passing moment.”
Modern Community
Through a contemporary spatial narrative, a ceremonial threshold draws the city inward. Building on the project’s refined minimalist aesthetic, an expansive horizontal layout creates an elegant transition between the city and home. The space unfolds in balanced order, with a restrained yet refined dialogue of materials that leaves the noise of the outside world behind. Through its measured transitions, the journey home settles into a serene ritual for contemporary living.
Waterside Jiangnan
A rear water garden where Jiangnan elegance meets contemporary aesthetics—a delight for the eyes and a sanctuary for the soul.
Tiered elevations give rise to cascading garden waterfalls, with water features embracing the space on all sides. Evergreen hollies rising from the water create an elegant, tranquil waterscape.
Island Lounge
The resort-style Island Lounge extends the tiered cascades of the showcase area. Water spills over finely crafted stone façades, while the crystal-clear surface mirrors the silhouettes of pergolas and swaying trees, reinterpreting the shimmering, contemporary ambience of the showcase.
The raised pool uses vertical changes in elevation to break the site’s flatness. Combined with tiered cascades, naturalistic water features, and a scenic viewing platform, it creates a heightened floating effect and sense of ceremony. More than a place to swim, the pool becomes a waterside setting in which to linger and explore.
On either side, pavilions and covered walkways extend gracefully, united by a consistent craftsmanship in metal and stone. Tall canopy trees enclose the space, creating a private retreat. By day, one can sit leisurely by the pool, embracing the shimmering water and gentle breeze, as the visual spectacle of the showcase gives way to a relaxed, everyday resort experience.
Veranda Prelude
A seamless transition, a prelude beneath the colonnade: a light-filled gallery dissolves the boundary between architecture and landscape. Serving as a gentle link between the interiors and gardens, it frames garden views through a composition of openings and enclosures, revealing shifting vistas with every step. Transparent surfaces draw greenery beneath the eaves.
In a single step, the quiet stillness of the interior gives way to gardens unfolding in lush greenery, creating a fluid, seamless journey home—where, amid an atmosphere of modern restraint, the poetry of nature is gently embraced.
Box Star Playland
Fresh macaron hues transform the site into a pixel-game-themed playground. A giant game-box installation forms the visual centerpiece, complemented by slides, three-dimensional climbing structures, and playful obstacle-course features, creating an imaginative world of exploration.
From “Modern Enchantment” to “Everyday Life by the Water”—What Qinglan Xuan creates is not merely a visitor journey through a showcase, but a lasting rhythm of life.
True sophistication lies not in costly materials, but in the patience of design—allowing life to live up to imagination, and imagination to find its way back into life.Modernity is the essence of Qinglan Xuan; everyday life is its true radiance.
