Le Meridien Hotel at Penang Gateway is a landmark 36-story development strategically located opposite Penang International Airport. This project, part of an integrated development concept, features seamless connectivity to the airport, a future LRT station, and a shopping mall.
Managed by Marriott International, Le Meridien will offer 200 rooms of 5-star hospitality, catering to transit passengers and MICE demands from nearby industrial zones. The design, inspired by aeronautical winds, features dynamic shapes, aluminum-clad crowns, and horizontal fins to reduce heat.
The hotel and Avion suites share dedicated sky pools and facilities on the 36th floor, providing panoramic views of the airport runways. Suites range from 488 to 948 square feet, appealing to young professionals and airline crews, and include customizable “flexy foyers” for post-pandemic needs.
Sustainability is key, with the project targeting GBI certification, featuring rainwater harvesting, syphonic drainage, and energy-efficient designs. Penang Gateway aims to be Penang’s first Transit Oriented Development, seamlessly integrating shopping, working, living, and leisure spaces, and setting a new standard for innovative, sustainable urban living.
