This beautiful Tudor style new build home was set in what was virtually a 4 acre field with a few trees.  The clients commissioned Aralia to design a master landscape scheme which would transform the field into a beautiful formal country garden. The architecture of the house was the original inspiration for the country estate design, and Aralia looked to incorporate many period features into the country garden, but to introduce them in a slightly contemporary style.  There were several challenges with the layout of the scheme for this country estate garden including the fact that in addition to the main residence, there would be an East Wing, a Basement Wing and a separate annex that would be long term rental properties.  The separation of the property meant that we also had to delivery private areas exclusively for the family, and other areas of a more communal nature.  Aralia designed a landscape scheme that would truly allow the architecture to breathe, whilst still complimenting its style. The interior of the house was breathtaking and full of unique elements, something which Aralia aimed to capture within the extensive gardens with elements of surprise, intrigue and juxtaposition. Private areas were created with the help of pleached trees & hedges and clever screening that would create privacy whilst still retaining the gardens stunning views. The country estate’s beautiful Tower was used as a key axis in the design.

Aralia worked as Landscape Architects within a multi-disciplinary consultant team and a range of sub-contractors. Aralia were responsible for concept creation through to design detail.  The house is still under construction.
