To maintain a grounded, calm yet uplifting feel, the rich-hued zellige-effect tiles were used on the lower half of the wall only, except for in the shower, where they create a jewel-box effect. Underfloor heating provides essential warmth amid the expanses of tiles, while the powerful rain shower elevates everyone’s morning routine. matki.co.uk | capietra.com | mandarinstone.com | bcdesigns.co.uk

Lefroy Brooks’ unlacquered brassware partners an elegant roll-top bath and pedestal basin, creating a timeless look set against pale marble panels and walls in ‘Morandi Yellow’ by Atelier Ellis.

Thanks to its Carrara marble cladding and hint-of-yellow walls reminiscent of a sunlit Italian morning, this bathroom has all the luminosity of a still life by the 20th-century artist Giorgio Morandi. The room’s clean lines – created with a combination of carved marble panels and matching brick-shaped tiles in the open shower – feel modernist in inspiration; set against Lefroy Brooks’ ‘1900’ brassware, the effect is of a timeless space that’s been there for centuries. The unlacquered brass fittings have a natural patina that catches the light, while their vintage silhouettes lend elegance to a ‘Charterhouse’ pedestal basin and classic loo, both also from Lefroy Brooks’ collection.
