standout: After years spent collaborating on projects—first as studio mates while studying architecture at the Czech Technical University, later as a side hustle during stints at established firms—the work-life partners launched their own practice in 2024 to realize residential and commercial work of all scales. On the smaller end of the spectrum, a snug 990-square-foot storefront for mani-pedis showcases the duo’s ability to conjure bold experiences through visual restraint. Glowy fiberglass partitions carve out functional zones and choreograph foot traffic from check-in to treatment stations, doubling as ambient illumination. “Light becomes material, dissolving the space’s real dimensions,” the pair explains. Meanwhile, the white-on-white palette instills calm—and lets nail-polish colors pop. studioplys.cz
