Our clients had recently purchased this new build property  and their main priority for the garden was for it to be usable & enjoyable for all of the family – including their 3 young children.  The clients desired a large lawned area to make up most of the garden, allowing for the children to play football and other outdoor games.  The garden needed to be low maintenance due to their busy lifestyles, so the focus was really on making the garden look after itself, but still providing impact and an attractive backdrop for the house.  To ensure that the garden had interest, Aralia broke up the design of the garden with attractive planting and rows of statuesque Pleached Trees to add drama and height. 

The primary terrace led directly from the lounge, the existing terrace was not large enough for the client’s ambitions for larger scale entertaining, so an extended terrace was designed, together with a large outdoor kitchen area.  The outdoor kitchen included a BBQ, cooling & warming drawers, a fridge sink – and we even included a Tandoor oven for the clients.  An overhead contemporary pergola was incorporated to ensure the outdoor kitchen could be used from Spring through to late Autumn, to provide both protection from rain and also the sun.  The net result was a beautiful garden with a modern yet timeless appeal, that blended cutting edge technology into a beautiful woodland garden backdrop.
