The project transforms the public space in front of the Church of Cané into an “open square”, a place of gathering and contemplation that harmoniously engages with the Adamello territory. Cané is a small mountain village, shaped by stone, silence, and shared memory; the architectural intervention enhances and interprets this deep connection with nature and history.

The local granite – tonalite from the Adamello – becomes the central feature through three suspended monolithic blocks, donated to the community as seating and resting elements, inviting reflection and social interaction.

An old notice board is removed to open up the view and restore full visibility of the surrounding landscape. An existing signpost is reimagined as a technical and symbolic totem: it represents the dragon and its glacier, both emblems of the region.

A little further uphill, a historic barrel vault is restored with a pavement of local stones, a true expression of the area’s cultural and material heritage.
