Nestled between two natural bodies of water, the house guides you on a journey from the creek to the beach through a central axis.

This journey is punctuated by a blade wall which acts to conceal spaces of contemplation and reveal spaces of interaction which gives a sense of compression and release; light and dark; and loud and quiet.

The materiality of the house starts to reveal warmth in the timber joinery that we have introduced internally in the house, which contrasts to the metal elements we have externally. The screen to the upper level acts as a veil during the day and as a lantern during the night -providing a unique lens to view light. The strength in the architectural forms reveals the house as your protector as you move through the site.
