The design of the space was heavily influenced by its longitudinal layout and division into two sub-spaces. The central goal was to intensify the perspective along the main axis, connecting the entrance to the cashier desk. This was achieved through the linear geometry of custom marble furniture, a “mountain range” marble wall, suspended light fixtures, and columns supporting hangers and display units.
The materials used—Naxos marble, white-coated steel, and wood—were chosen to create a cohesive spatial language, with a white and grey color palette complemented by a wooden background wall for shoes and mirrors, reflecting the traditional materials of Arachova.
Upon entering, visitors encounter a floating glass and marble display inspired by Mies Van der Rohe’s principles, with a glass cube for jewelry. This off-center piece divides the space into two promenades: one alongside a curved marble “mountainline,” referencing the Delphi landscape, and the other by a long rectangular window display inspired by Le Corbusier. A mix of clothes and jewelry along the marble pieces creates a dynamic experience. The prominent marble cashier desk and the garden of olive trees above serve as a visual guide, drawing visitors deeper into the space.
A “threshold” of steel racks with hammered marble shelves showcases shoes and bags, contrasting rough and polished textures. These structures create a sense of enclosure and rhythm, offering a pause where visitors can sit on a marble bench and try on products. The rhythmic design approach emphasizes the importance of balance and movement throughout the space.
In the second sub-space, visitors are embraced by the ceiling’s L-shape and vertical mirrors. The perspective shifts as the cashier desk, garden, and display furniture form a perpendicular frame to the original axis, completing the experience.
Lighting, designed by ADD, follows the geometry of the space, using indirect fixtures anchored to objects and hung to enhance the design. Gray industrial flooring provides a neutral backdrop for the floating metallic and marble elements.
