The Trump Organization announced that it is building a new 70-story tower in Tbilisi, Georgia. The tower will be designed by Gensler. The tower will be the “tallest building in Georgia” by “the world’s largest architecture firm,” the Trump Organization said in a statement chock full of superlatives.
Trump Tower Tbilisi denotes the first “Trump branded” project in the Caucasus region, the Organization affirmed. Gensler told AN it cannot comment on the story at this time.
A mix of luxury residences, high-end retail, world-class dining options, and lifestyle amenities will be spread throughout the tower overlooking Tbilisi’s Central Park.
“The Trump name is synonymous with some of the most luxurious real estate developments in the world, and Trump Tower Tbilisi stands as a continuation of that legacy,” said Eric Trump, Trump Organization executive vice president.
Other development partners are Biograpi Living, Archi Group, The Sapir Organization, Blox Group, and Finvest Georgia.
Tbilisi is home to approximately 1 million residents, or about one-third of Georgia’s population. In recent years Tbilisi’s population has increased significantly due to global conflicts and the Caucasus region’s burgeoning popularity among developers.
The development team said in a joint statement it is capitalizing on the growing number of “international investors and second-home buyers” moving to Tbilisi.
After Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, approximately 110,000 Russians moved to Georgia. (Most moved to Tbilisi and Batumi, Georgia’s second largest city.) There is also a growing number of Israelis relocating to Tbilisi.
The announcement comes not long after controversial plans for a Trump International Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia, were terminated last February.
The tower in Tbilisi will expand the real estate development group’s already global portfolio, which includes residential towers in cities across the U.S., India, and Uruguay; with more on the way in Bucharest, Romania; Hung Yen, Vietnam; and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
More details about the tower’s architecture will be shared in the coming months, per the Trump Organization’s statement.
