Bond

Warm and textural, Bond combines nods to the existing as it expands and opens the home to the landscape.

Situated looking out over the city, the heightened positioning from Upper Cairns Terrace ensures a uniquely elevated feeling encases the home. Capturing this openness from within, the three-storey home directs views and openings outward, seeing the building facilitate the free-flowing movement across thresholds, out into the many surrounding landscaped areas.

Breaking up the linear nature of the home, curves elements are introduced to bring light inward. Circular forms then cut through the horizontal planes to draw light down, and as a result create a moving dance of light within the home throughout the day. A neutral yet tactile palette adds a welcoming and familiar feel from within, carefully weaving the existing home within the new, and ensuring a seamless transition between the two – creating moments of retreat and calm within.
