Appreciation towards BIG for providing the following description:

Winner of first prize in the international competition for Tirana’s Fountain Square, BIG’s winning proposal extends the landscape of Rinia Park beneath and around a new mixed-use development in the center of Tirana. The expanded park becomes a new public landscape for the city, integrating stormwater management, biodiversity and recreational functions into a continuous overall environment. A closed-loop system collects, stores and reuses rainwater for irrigation, flood mitigation and creating a cooler microclimate throughout the park.
