Transnatural, the Amsterdam-based lab and cultural hub led by Arjen Bangma, prioritizes material experimentation in its product lineup. That’s certainly evident in Tijs Gilde of Studio Guilty’s Lamina sconce, a layered collage of translucent recycled acrylic. The slatted shapes—lozenge, half-moon, rectangle—slot into a horizontal light bar fitted with tunable LEDs. As users move around (or adjust the light temperature and intensity of) the lenticular-like construction, its colors and forms take on new dimensions. Gilde conceived the design with its eventual disassembly in mind, so components can be recycled at life’s end. How’s that for full circle? transnaturallabel.com
