Aralia was asked by Gaze Burvill to design their trade stand for the Chelsea Flower Show 2018. The brief focused on the need for a clean contemporary look to showcase their new products, crafted from natural materials such as Sweet Chestnut. Aralia responded with a fresh and crisp design which centred on the concept of five axes – inspired by the new technology unique to  Gaze Burvill which allows them to shape wood in 5 different axes. Striking angled lines cut through the space, drawing the eye through the planting towards different living zones.  The trade stand aims to reflect and highlight the Gaze Burvill range of products whilst showcasing contemporary outdoor living at its best – outdoor kitchen, dining and lounging experiences – all set within a quintessentially English contemporary woodland garden. The key piece of furniture was the new Wisley Woodland Seat, created for the RHS. Materials resonated strongly of the natural materials used in the furniture, including a decking walkway made of a range of different wood textures including Sweet Chestnut and Oak. Planting was luxuriant with deep purples and oranges, featuring Rosa ‘Munstead Wood’ and Rosa ‘Jane Austen’ for glamour and scent, Eremurus ‘Pinokkio’ and Salvia ‘Caradonna’ for strong upward accents of vibrant colour, and Melica uniflora ‘Alba’ to soften the look.
