The modernization of the Ulriksbanen mountain cable car made it easier for people to reach the top, from where visitors can enjoy spectacular views across the city of Bergen, the fjords, and the surrounding mountains. At the same time, the Skyskraperen Restaurant was expanded, with dishes based on local produce taking pride of place on its menu. Ulriken Kafé, known for its fresh-baked cakes and traditional Bergen fish soup, was also established.

For the adventurous, there are now several exciting activities to engage in, including Norway’s fastest zipline and a number of gorgeous hiking trails, including the popular route between the Ulriken and Fløyen peaks. Along with new recreational areas, places to sit, and well-thought-out landscape design, these initiatives have transformed the mountain plateau into a comprehensive destination—somewhere to experience nature, tranquility, and elevated culinary delights. These improvements have led to an increase in popularity. Since its rejuvenation, Ulriken 643 has set new visitor records every year.
